Alan Clark, Choir Director

 

Alan Clark is the Minister of Music and Arts at First United Methodist Church, Rockwall, where he has served the past eight years. He has directed choirs for children, youth and adults for 20 years in churches in Louisiana, Tennessee and Texas.

He is a graduate of Duke University and received his certification in church music from Perkins School of Theology, where he studied with Jane Marshall and Helen Kemp. Alan is an ordained deacon in the United Methodist Church. He is also a member of the Chorister’s Guild and the Fellowship of United Methodist in Music and Worship Arts.

In addition to choirs, Alan has directed numerous stage productions and has professional experience in acting and TV/video production.

Alan is married to Patsy, who is a Nurse Practitioner in Greenville. They have three sons, Zach, Will and Timmy.

Ken Frerichs, Accompanist

Ken Frerichs is a retired Professor of Music and Chairman of the Keyboard Division at Texas A&M University, Commerce, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Music and Masters of Music degrees in Piano and Organ from Indiana University. Doctoral work was done at the University of Oklahoma. Ken has given solo and duo recitals throughout Texas and has appeared with orchestras in Indiana, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas. He is an acclaimed teacher and widely sought after adjudicator and clinician for piano competitions and festivals. He is the past president of the Rockwall Music Teachers Association, Organist at Saint Anthony Catholic Church, Wylie, Texas, accompanist for the Lakeside Civic Chorus, and charter board member for the Rockwall Alliance for the Arts, Rockwall, TX.

Dr. Al Calabrese, Executive Artistic Advisor

Dr. Calabrese is the head of the Choral Department at Southern Methodist University.

The executive board is comprised of volunteers committed to the success of The Rockwall Childrens Chorus.
